Majority of Americans favor tougher texting-while-driving laws

The results to a survey conducted by the National Safety Council (NSC) show two thirds of the respondents being in favor of stronger enforcement of the existing texting while driving laws, and half of those respondents also favor harsher penalties – such as loss of the driver’s license and higher car insurance premiums – for those ticketed for texting while driving, particularly if they are repeat offenders.
